Free Live Music with John Hibbard and Kristal Wight

John blends acoustic country, bluegrass, and Americana, drawing from his roots in southeastern New Mexico and a background that includes welding, teaching, and construction. A South Plains College Commercial Music alum, he was named Outstanding Bluegrass Instrumentalist in 2021 and has played with the SPC Faculty Band.

Kristal, a country-folk/pop artist from West Texas, brings a fresh twist to the genre—trading guitar for keytar. A former Touring Ensemble member and Songwriting Award recipient at South Plains College, Kristal’s debut EP Growing Up earned over 40,000 streams, and she recently placed 3rd in Rolling Stone’s America’s Next Top Hitmaker contest.
